Callor Halloween Party

Brandon and I realized that we don't see very many people that we were friends with in high school very often, so we decided to try and host a yearly get-together to reacquaint everyone. This year we hosted a Halloween party! It is of course my favorite holiday! The turn out was small, but we still had a great time! Julia and John Whitehead and family, Ryan Cox and Family, and Jess and Sarah Cook and Family attended! The Cooks came dressed up as pirates! They definitely had awesome costumes! I got so busy with the details that I didn't dress up, :( I know, total downer! Than Brandon didn't want to dress up this year.............? Downer #2, but let's continue! Julia was an old lady who had lost her puppy. Great twist to the costume, when she turned around the puppy was stuck between her bulging tooshie!! Hilarious!! I loved it! John was Darth Vador (very cool costume) and he light sabor fought with all the boys! Domenic even considered pulling out his Darth Vador Pez guy costume from last year!

We had lots of games for the kids to play! We started out with marshmallow relay races. The kids had to carry their marshmallows on spoons through our blow-up castle, around the yard, down the stairs, back up the other side and back to the start. They each got a blow-up pirate beach ball for playing. Than the kids did bean bag tosses. The prize was a rubber pirate duckie! They had a blast! Perhaps the best time had was the authentic pirate hunt for treasure! Jess acted the part of Captain so well! He read the clues to the kids who had to than go and find the next clue! I made sure that each clue was a clever little rhyme, and that the paper was authentically burnt around the edges for aging effects!

I love the picture in the middle! You can almost read the excitement in every one's face as Jess reads out the next clue! The kids all filed up the play house stairs, thinking that one of the clues was there, but it wasn't! I liked the picture of everyone there however, so I included it!

Here are the kids dividing out their booty! We had a treasure chest full of toys and chocolate coins! They loved it! There was plenty to go around too! I was amazed at how much each kid got to take home!

These are some cute random shots of the party! The two babies visited each other while hanging out in their car seats! Leah Cox wanted me to take a picture of her, just like Skyler does, so I snapped this cute one of her enjoying a candy bar! The kids all loved playing with each other! I love the innocence of children. Many of them met for the first time here at the party, and yet they played together as though they had known each other for years! It must be noted that Alexis is dressed up in her own homemade costume as Hannah Montana. We had just got home from the Boo at the Zoo and were getting ready for the party. I told her to go and put a costume on, "I don't care what, just go get something on!" Those words were all the permission she needed to create her little gem of a costume! I actually think that she did pretty well considering!

Many of you Taylor relatives will remember the old videos of us dancing to the Monster Mash at Grandma's parties. Alexis has seen those videos and so she wanted to do nothing else for her party but dance in the strobe light to the Monster Mash! So we did! I was surprised, only mildly, how much fun the kids had dancing to the tunes in the strobe light! What good times. To end the evening we listened to a few creepy tales, which were hilarious! It was a really great party!

That looks like SO much fun ... but we REALLY missed you this year! Next year for sure! I forgot about the Monster Mash dance. That was THE BEST!! Gma and Gpa would LOVE to watch us all do that, I think. Help us remember ... Saturday before Halloween. Loved Alexis' Hanna Montana - pretty dang good!

I loved the strobe light! Grandma's parties were always the best.
Zeb has been doing much better now that he's on pulmicort - we occasionally have a rough night but things are so much better!
