Brownie Spatulas, Gotta love them!

I have to give a shout out to my favorite Kitchen Utensil, the Brownie Spatula!

Not a day goes by that I don't use a brownie spatula. These cute little spatulas are a convenient and useful necessity! I love them so much! I flip eggs with them, turn pancakes, remove hot food from cookie sheets, and on and on. I have to own at least 5 at a time just to make sure that I always have one available to use! Before you think I am crazy, keep in mind that these sweet little useful tools are only $0.99 at Orson Gigis! Gotta love them!

Weather?

So others have said it and I second the notion: I hate snow in April!
Go away 30 degree days!
Go Away coldness!

Go Away icky weather that brings sickness to my babies!

Go Away new furnace payments at the end of the season because the old one decided to blow and was totally "unsafe to use any more".

Please bring on the crocus, hycinaths, tulips and daffodils! The sunburns, rosy cheeks, sun-bleached blondies, and WARMTH!

Where is Spring?

St. Patty's Day!

Alright all you hair loving people out there! For St. Patrick's Day Alexis wanted a 4 leaf clover in her hair. This is a photo of what I came up with. It turned out pretty great I think! Her friends all loved it! You can see that she is all decked out in green! For breakfast I made the kids green cinnamon toast and green kool-aide. It was awesome! The kids thought it was great!

At work I did a St. Patrick Theme Day! We had lots of green activities, making shamrock hats, leprechans, and fuzzy shamrocks. I taught the kids an irish jig. I was dancing with about 20 kids at the time that one of the aerobics classes got out. I didn't realize it at the time, but nearly all 30 people in the class had gathered around the windows and were watching us dance. I was embarrassed to say the least, but at least the children were having fun!

We were cleaning up between groups of children and came across this!

Domenic had put his little leprechan to sleep in the baby crib! What a cutie!

We had a primary activity on the 14th. It was a missionary themed activity. The children had so much fun! We started out by giving them calls and inviting them to the MTC. Here they opened their calls, got their name tags and the flags representing the country that they had been called to. We sang missionary songs like "I want to be a missionary now", "I Hope They Call me on a Misison", and "Called to Serve!"

Next we went in and did some service! This included writing letters to the missionaries on our ward. We also made visual aides for them to use while teaching investigators. The children all did a marvelous job coloring the teaching helps and then wrote cute little messages to the missionaries!


Our final activity was a Missionary Relay Race. The Sisters verses the Elders! Wach companionship had to get ready for the day. They began by making breakfast, they had to flip and turn their eggs! Next they had to brush their teeth, then move on to fold the laundry.

All missionaries need to have nicely ironed shirts, so the children had to iron their shirts (of course they were only pretending!) Once thier shirt was nicely ironed they needed to put on their shirt.

Finally the missionaries had to put on a suit, tie, skirt and official name badge. They had to end their preparation by having scripture study! They read a scripture about missionary work found in Alma!

For their treat the children voted on having a cereal mixer! They earned several different types of cerealto choose from. Of course there were all the great sugary yummy cereals, like Lucky Charms, Reeses Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Corn Pops, etc. They loved it. Each child had at least 2 bowls of their favorite kind of cereal! Yummy!

Would you eat it?

One of my all time favorite seafood dishes is Calamari! I love the stuff. When I was little I hated seafood, and my mom and dad loved it. One time when we went to Market Street Grill they decided to order me a variety plate and told me to try out everything. I was older, so this was something that I agreed to. The platter came and some things were recognizable, some weren't, so I started. The mussels and the oysters in the shell were okay, though they weren't on my list of really great foods. The capers were rubbery, I loved the shrimp. Then came these lovely little rings that were deep fried. They were scrumptious! I loved them. I ate and ate and ate. Then I asked what they were.

"Calamari" was the answer. Okay, simple enough.

"Waaa? What in the heck is calamari?" Squid. Squid you say? Little tiny 8 legged creatures? Yep!

Oh well! I still love it!
