Day one~ Reno and the Salt Flats!

I finally have Internet at home again and can post about our trip!

Day one began with an unexpected delay; a trip to the doctor. I ended up with the major illness for this trip, a bladder infection. It shouldn't have been too bad, but the pharmacist got my prescription wrong and called me half way between Reno and Salt Lake. It was a minor annoyance, but we managed. More to come on that.

Now onto the fun stuff. We stopped and took pictures at the big metal/concrete tree. It was fun, but really nothing more than a great big sculpture. The kids thought it was fun though!

The salt flats were so HOT! It was awesome to get out and walk around on the blazing white salt. We all had to wear our sunglasses because the glare was so extreme. We each took a photo with a peanut!
(for those of you who don't recognize the reference it is from Pirates of the Caribbean 3)
It was fun! Again, it is something that the kids won't forget!

We stayed at Circus Circus in Reno. It was wonderful! We stayed on the 25th floor! The view of the city was awesome at night! There were lots of fun things to do in the hotel itself. We watched Chinese acrobats, played midway games and even won a few prizes. Domenic choose a hot wheels car, Alexis got a pink glitter bouncy ball, and Skyler got a little cheetah baby that he calls "baby"! We were up late and all of us slept very well!
